Postgraduate Studies System

Postgraduate studies are divided into two sections:
1-diplomas :
It studies dealing with the decisions of practical or academic nature and duration of one year at least.

2-Master's degree :
The study courses and training high on the means of research and extrapolation preparing a letter terminating the Commission accepts the exam, which is the supervisor of the preparation of the member may not be less time required to obtain this degree two years.

The student is required to under the master's degree :

  Must possess a Bachelor's degree or bachelor's from a university in the Arab Republic of Egypt magna cum laude or at least a degree from the Institute of Equalization further scientific recognized by the university.

To follow the student for a year of studies approved by the College Board and successfully lead the exam.

The student after his success in the preparation of the studies mentioned in the letter in question passed by the College Board on the proposal of the Council of the Section.

3-degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D)

And based on original research for a term not less than two years culminating in a letter accepting the Commission ruling to the letter and may assign the student to do some advanced studies, as determined by the internal regulations of colleges.

The student is required to under the Ph.D. :

Must possess a master's degree in the discipline from a university in the Arab Republic of Egypt or equivalent degree from the Institute of further scientific recognized by the university.

And the innovative research on the subject approved by the Council of College and University Council on the proposal of the relevant section for a period of at least two years.

And that assesses student after his registration for a year at least in the Arab Republic of Egypt before making his ruling of the Commission.

To submit its research findings in a letter accepting the Commission ruling and discuss it.

·        The student should be an MA holder from an Egyptian or Arab university or an equivalent accredited institution in the field of his/her specialization.

·        Students must yield creative researches in their field after getting the approval of both the councils of the faculty and the university in addition to the approval of the department for two consecutive years at least.

·        After registering his/her thesis, a student must reside for the span time of at least one year in the Arab Republic of Egypt before submitting the thesis to the judge committee.

·        Student should submit the results of his/her thesis in a research paper, which is accepted and discussed by the committee.

 

4- (D. Sc)

Faculty of Science awards the doctorate of science (D. Sc). To obtain the degree, student should meet the following terms: He/She

1.     Should be a PhD holder in science five years ago at least.

2.     Should present creative published researches that were not part of MA and the PhD dissertations in science.

 

The student should present the framework and the outlines of the study, in addition to the benefits of his/her previous studies, the joint researches, and the names of supervisors in the MA and the PhD.

The faculty council is concerned with investigating the validity of the submitted scientific researches to be judged through the committee, which includes current and former professors at the Egyptian universities or institutions, or their counterparts in other accredited foreign universities and institutions.

5-  Honorary PhD Degree:

The university awards this degree by virtue of the University Council decision or according to a recommendation from any the university's or institution's councils for those who achieved distinguished services to the state, university, or humanity in general.
