Admission Rules
in University Student Hostels
Prerequisites
Accommodation Fees
A decree by the Supreme Council of
Universities fixes the hostel fees after the advice of the specialized university
council. The fees are currently 5 LE per month in addition to:
20 LE: Accommodation insurance paid
with the first month accommodation fees, such insurance fees is to be refund by
the end of the accommodation period after deducting the hostel's dues.
8 LE: Annual fees; to be paid in eight
monthly installments for the hostel maintenance.
3 LE: sport and social fees, annually
paid for renewing and substituting tools, taking into consideration the official
signatures required for this purpose.
15 LE: Monthly service improvement.
4 LE: Monthly repair fees.
2- Foreign Students Administration
fixes the fees for the foreign graduate students enrolled under cultural exchange
scholarships or financial aids.
3- During summer vacation, students
who continue accommodation in the hostel for regular summer study pay the same accommodation
fees as those for the academic year.
4- The daily accommodation fees is
120 piasters for monthly accommodation or in case the student does not stay a full
month accommodation.
5- In case of irregular accommodation,
the student will be paid 60 piasters
/ day as meal allowance, provided that the students notifies supervisor.
6- In case of not paying the fees,
meals are provided to the student until the tenth day of the month, and accommodation
up till day fifteen in the month. A student's accommodation right shall be withdrawn
if s/he fails to pay all stipulated fees. The due insurance shall be settled thereafter.

Student Disciplinary Rules:
1- A student who violates the rules
shall be notified in writing and a copy of the written notification shall be kept
in the students file.
2- The student shall be warned of losing
the accommodation right in hostels and such warning shall also be kept in his file.
3- Accommodation prevention, in case
1&2 parents shall be informed.
University hostels director has the
capacity to directly pass penalty no. 1, whereas penalty no.2 may be passed upon
a written investigation with the student.
Non-Student Accommodation Regulations
1- Certain delegates and visitors may
be accommodated upon the approval of the Hostel Council provided their stay does
not affect the study of other students.
2- Accommodation request shall be submitted at least one month prior to accommodation.
3- Accommodation fees shall be paid
prior to the beginning of
the accommodation for the full period. 20% of fees shall
be added for service to be paid as bonus and incentive for the hostel employees
during the academic year.
4- L.E. 20 is to be paid as refundable
insurance for every person.
5- Insurance may be dropped in case
there is an insuring official body.
6- The Student Hostel Board Chairman
may exempt some delegations or visitors from paying part of the fees or he may drop
it all.
Regulations of Staying
Student Hostel
1-
Students are responsible for keeping
the furniture in their room.
2-
Meals are served on time according
to a schedule determined by the administration of the hostel ; it is not allowed
to surpass your colleague in queue.
3-
Tickets of meals are distributed individually
and cannot be used by others.
4-
Meals cannot be served on other time
if student gets delayed, unless he gets permission from the supervisor.
5-
No meals can be served in bedrooms
unless student is ill and under the permission of supervisor and university's doctor.
6-
It is forbidden for students to keep
food or take utensils in their bedrooms.
7-
It is forbidden for students to keep
tea- coffee and kitchen utensils in their bedrooms.
8-
Students have the right to complain
if there is any remiss from staff.
9-
It is forbidden for students to appear
with underwear or unsuitable clothes in balconies or halls.
10-
Students should show
respect
using utilities & W.C.
11-
Supervisor arranges
with student radio listening hours, as student can use radio in his room without
disturbing others.
12-
Students should keep
quiet specially during studying & sleeping (relaxing) times.
13-
Gambling & drinking
alcohol are forbidden.
14-
Caution from forming
parties or holding assemblies or distributing sheets relating to political or religious
issues.
15-
If a student becomes
ill, s/he should inform the medical care about his/her illness as well the hostel
administration.
16-
Every student should
have ID with his photo, and his room number.
17-
It is not allowed for
relatives or friends to visit students in their bedrooms. They can visit them in
the reception area. Visiting hours end at
9 o'clock pm
.
18-
It is forbidden to
misuse electrical lights, kettles or flammable substances in the rooms.
