Cultural and Artistic Season

As one of the pioneering universities in Egypt and the Arab world, Cairo University is committed to develop its young adult learners culturally, intellectually and socially. In the wake of the fast changes in the era of technology, information and communication, cultural products and all forms of art, whether audio or visual, present significance issues that are of importance to Cairo University  as it leads on the march of enlightenment and culture with a view to achieving the following:  

1-     Protecting students from all sorts of destructive ideas & corrupt thoughts.

2-     Developing & strengthening the youth's national, intellectual and cultural sense of belonging by keeping them off the terrorist thought.

3-     Adjusting misconception to be useful for national future and youth.

4-     Rooting original artistic & aesthetic values in youth, since art is based on the philosophy of enriching sense, thought, intellect & emotion , refining human feelings , and founding artistic values that affect the social aspects in particular and  humanity in general .

5-     Discovering talents that seek changes to confirm that our Egyptian society is still able to give through cultural, artistic and social aspects.

Since the academic year 1993/1994, Cairo University has witnessed constant movement and activity, represented by the artistic cultural program, organized by the university in its Main Hall. The reception students of the artistic and cultural activities is a great indication that culture and refined art can touch the hearts and the minds and bridge the distance between generations & environments. Accompanied by their families, the professors and the staff of university were also keen on attending seminars &cultural evenings for entertainment, which indicates the spirit and the value of family's solidarity that controls human relationship among the members of university community.

  Such cultural activity has resulted in lectures and seminars, given and attended by the prime officials in the state. Moreover, the professors participated in commenting on their topics. A larger number of students has also attended such lectures & seminars that bring about the most important issues that concern the Egyptian society and occupy the public opinion. Furthermore, the administrative experience of the prime officials is mingled with the academic knowledge of the university's' professors, thus achieving the desired goals through the interaction between theory and practice.
