Youth Care Activities

          The history of sport activity in Cairo University abounds in achievements, championships and first ranks won in university youth weeks and in all final competitions. Cairo University supported these activities by establishing the sport village, which includes playgrounds in which university students can practise all sport activities.

Some principal aims were taken into consideration while setting the plans for sport activity management, such as:

·        Spreading out sports concepts which support the morals and values of positive, honorable competition, and that practicing in sports is not limited to professionals. Only but it is for everyone to attain physical fitness and remain in good health.

·        Widening the circle of sports practitioners through activating internal competitions between colleges and other external Arab and Egyptian universities, and also through competition with different clubs and sport institutions.

·        Observing the variety and frequency of those to cover the whole academic years, and to include the greatest number of practitioners who profit from the sports programs.

Internal activity is represented in:

·        University tournament in team sports: football – basketball – volleyball – handball – hockey.

·        University championships in single sports: track and field – swimming – table tennis – squash – boxing – wrestling – karate – judo – taekwondo - weight lifting - bodybuilding – shooting.

External activity is represented by the following:

·        Egyptian Universities Championship.

·        President Cup for Football.

·        President Cup for Volleyball.

There are also a lot of sports training centers in the different faculties distributed as follows:

- Sport Center of  Faculty of Commerce includes gymnastic hall    

   and a   table tennis hall.

-  Sport Center of  Faculty of Science includes a table tennis hall.

-  Sport Center of Faculty of Veterinary includes a gymnastic hall.

- Sport Center of  Faculty of Nursing includes a gymnastic hall.

- Sport Center of Faculty of Medicine contains playgrounds, swimming pools, a gymnastic hall and a table tennis hall.

- Sport Center of Faculty of Agriculture includes playgrounds for football, basketball and volleyball, in addition to a swimming pool, a gymnastic hall and a table tennis hall.

 - Sport Center of Faculty of Engineering includes playgrounds, a swimming pools a gymnastic hall and a table tennis hall.

There is also sports city in which all sports are practised and supervised by qualified coaches.
