Request for Proposal “Cairo
University/UNDP MDGs Awareness Initiative” Research Grants
The Community and Environment Service Sector- Cairo University has the
honor to invite young researchers, teaching assistants and assistant
professors to submit a proposal for research grants that aim at
introducing prominent and innovative applied solutions that serve Egypt
attainment of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
The Research grants competition comes in the framework of the joint
Cairo University and UNDP “MDGs Awareness Initiative” aiming at raising
awareness of the CU youth about the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)
and promoting their role in achieving MDGs in Egypt.
The research grants competition offers funding to encourage young
researchers, teaching assistants and assistant professors to conduct
applied research in one of the topics related to the eight Millennium
development goals with the objective of promoting innovative solutions
to support Egypt achievement of the MDGs.
Total amount of funds available for the research grants is about
Egyptian L.E. 500,000 to be used to fund at least five selected
prominent and innovative applied research that serve Egypt attainment of
the MDGs.
Four copies and an electronic version of the application form must be
received not later than [Sunday, September, 19th]. The awarded research
proposals would be notified by the second week of October.
This competition is only for faculties of Medicine, Science,
Agriculture, Computer Science, Engineering, Urban, Mass com, Economics
and Political science
